“Western Balkan Rural Extension Network through Curriculum Reform - WBREN” – 0410
Project goal
  1. To develop and improve the competencies of current non-formal education professionals, who will work alongside EU experts to create and deliver non-formal, modular based trainings to stakeholders in rural development.
  2. To introduce a 1 year, ECTS compliant Specialization in Rural Development (SRD) program at lead Western Balkan Higher Education Institutions.
  3. To establish Center for Rural Extension (CRE) at lead Western Balkan Higher Education Institutions which support SRD program and non formal education activities.
  4. To increase regional cooperation in rural development and extension / outreach within the Western Balkan Rural Extension Network.

Regional stakeholder workshop on human capacity development in the agricultural extension sector in Western Balkans” – 0310
Project goal
  1. To assess the existing status of human resources development within the main advisory services (public, private, civil society);
  2. To identify requirements for upgrading the training of advisory service staff;
  3. To formulate a regional technical cooperation project on human resources development for extension/advisory services, agreed with major stakeholders of participating countries.

Short description

This regional stakeholder workshop is one of the final activities in the frame of the project "Technical Support for Human Resources Development of Agricultural Advisory Services" for providing necessary platform to:

  • Discuss national findings and identify common problems and specific features in HCD in the different countries;
  • Provide with an inter-country comparison analysis;
  • Validate the established overlaps and complementary elements between the countries in order to make cooperation more effective;
  • Present and discuss follow up activities and responsibilities related to finalising the regional project proposal.

“Leguminous crops as basis for organic farming in Macedonia - Legumac” – 0210
Project goal
Growing legumes as a basis in organic agriculture and better animal feeding

Short description
The general objectives of the project include the following:
  • to determine the yield and quality of legumes in specific regions of Macedonia
  • to maintain biological diversity within the crop rotation and cover crop system
  • to adapt the concept of organic production in rotation/crop pure and mixed system, that allow leguminous to be more useful
  • to prepare simple schemes of crop rotations
  • to convert obtained results into new initiatives by farmers showing a possibility to rely on renewable resources in organic organized agricultural systems
  • to disseminate the results through media, farmers and interested citizens about the value of legume growing.

“South East European Development Network (SEEDNet) on Plant Genetic Resources” – 0110
Project goal
Establishment of a regional network for cooperation regarding Plant Genetic Resources.

Short description
The SEEDNet program was established, with the purpose of supporting the countries in their efforts to establish and strengthen national and regional programs on PGR Plant Genetic Resources) with special focus on conservation, utilization, collaboration and networking among stakeholders at both national and regional levels.
