Short description
Contract farming can be defined as an agricultural production managed by the contract between the buyer and the farmer, i.e. the producer. The contract stipulates certain conditions required for the production and sale of certain product or products. Often the farmer agrees to produce and provide certain agreed quantities of the certain specific product. At the same time, during the production the farmer has to retain certain quality standards determined by the client, and maintain the time frame for delivery of the product as requested by the client. In return, the buyer commits to buyout the product, and in some cases to support the farmers’ production. This can be done by purchasing of production raw materials, by preparing of the land for cultivation or by giving technical support (advice) during the production process. Activities:
• Technical assistance provided to the farmers (one monthly meeting with each farmer) in order improving the farming practice and establishing optimal price, furthermore collecting, processing and analyzing data associated with the production costs
• Direct communication (contact) with the company/companies (one monthly meeting with each company) and exchange information between them and the farmers’ they have contracts with.
• Support of 5 production specialists in supplying all necessary forms, tools and training for the farmers, in order for them to correctly (properly) enter their production costs
