Project Goals
The objective of the organized Consultative workshop in Macedonia and the Study Tour in Slovenia is to demonstrate how to establish consistent national approaches across the agri-food sector, within public and private sectors, and how the interests of the different stakeholders could be aligned. It will also contribute to exchange experience and gain knowledge on the development of a strong domestic brand that can differentiate itself from imports based on high-quality safe fresh produce.

Short Description
The project ‘Development of a green and competitive broiler sub-sector that contributes to poverty reduction and improved nutrition for the population’ aims to contribute to the development of a competitive, green and smallholder inclusive broiler subsector in the Republic of North Macedonia. The broiler sector needs to attract more actors along the value chain and enhance the linkages and coordination between them in order to penetrate the domestic market (currently served mostly by imports) and benefit from economies of scale.
The project will support establishment of vertical and horizontal integration among all relevant stakeholders. In order to involve and establish coordination among all players in the value chain of broiler production, in the framework of this agreement, FACE will organize a Consultative workshop in Macedonia to share the findings on gaps and bottlenecks, as well as the policy and financial recommendations that have to be addressed for the sector.
Furthermore, in order to mainstream the knowledge and experience on strong and competitive broiler production along the whole chain value, FACE will also organize a study tour as a part of capacity building services for public and private participants from the Macedonia.
